 How To Break Your Fast 

In our country, many people fast occasionally on festivals such as Teez, 16 Somwar, Muharram, eid-ul-fitr etc. In India hunger strike also is very common but most people do not know that breaking the fast is more tougher than fasting, it might be cause death in the lack of precautions, so it's important to know the right way to break the fast. 

Prepare Yourself For Fast

If you are going to fasting then you have to prepare yourself physically and mentally. You can consult with fast expert or someone who have experience about fast or read books and if these are not available to you then you may read this article. And for physical preparation you have to minimize your diet atleast 2 days before the diet and add fruits and vegetables in your diet

Steps  Before Fasting 

1. During fasting the stool (human waste) dry. So before fast take juice of Triphala, Chaulai (chaurai ka saag), spinach (Palak) or Amla, or peer (Naashpati ) or bitter guard (Karela).

2. Do not take physical work, even do not walking more, do only which is necessary 

3. In starting you feel pseudo (false) hunger. In that situation take lemon water and honey. If you cannot take this then you can also drink water 2 to 3 glass this will  give you a little relief over hunger 

4. Never fast without water. During the fasting period, all the energy of the body is spent in the elimination of foreign toxins and in regeneration and healing. By not drinking water the toxins from the body does not get removed. The body becomes sick due to excessive poisoning. Burning sensation in stomach and urine, infection, constipation, smelly sweat, urination, defecation are caused by not drinking water. Instead of drinking all at once, squeeze one lemon in a glass of water and drink it at an interval of one hour.


How to Break Your Fast ?

In the beginning of long fast you feel uncomfortable for 2 days and then it's not difficult. It is easy to do long fasting but  breaking a fast in a correct way is more difficult to. Failure to break fast in a scientific manner can be , harmful for you. It might be a cause of death.

If  A heavy food is taken after a long fast then intestine displays from their position and this can lead to Hernia (a tear in muscle or tissue that allows part of insides to bulge out).

During fasting period the digestive system becomes weak and inactive. While breaking the fast, take the juice of quickly digesting fruits mixed with water so that the digestive system can get used to taking food again. Orange juice gets digested in one and a half hours. 125 ml of orange juice mix with 100 ml of water and drink it slowly. Juice mixed with water at an interval of 3 hours
keep getting. If you are fasting only on water, then mix a lemon juice and 2 spoon of honey in a glass of water and drink. Boil parwal, bottle gourd, tinda, ridge gourd, nanua and tomato, crush them, filter them and make soup of 125 ml. take it. From the second day, gradually increase the quantity of juice or soup and take boiled vegetables, fruits, bread crusts or porridge in that order. Among the fruits, take soft fruits like orange, papaya, grapes, tomato, apple and banana etc.

For as many days as you fast, spend at least the same number of days in switching to a normal diet. For example, after 5 days of fasting, consume orange juice on the first day and increase the quantity of orange juice on the second day. On the third day, from 7 am to 1.30 am, a total of 150 cc four times at an interval of two and a half hours. Mix orange juice with water or take soup. Have juicy fruits at four o'clock and boiled vegetables and curd or buttermilk in the evening meal. On the fourth day, take boiled vegetables, a chapati of bread, 20 grams of porridge or hand-pounded rice, 200 grams of boiled vegetables and curd or buttermilk (chhachh) for lunch. On the fifth day, have a roti, vegetable, salad and curd in your meal. Thus gradually normal diet.
And it is necessary to drink adequate amount of water at the time of breaking the fast.

Who Should Fast?

Pregnant, lactating, unhealthy, children, heart patients, diabetes, tuberculosis and emaciated (thin and weak because of illness,) patients should not fast. If fasting is required, do it under the guidance of an expert. 

Losing weight by fasting and regaining it is an unscientific way 

Excessive fasting to gain weight, disordered eating habits and trying to become more slim leads to a dangerous physical and mental disease called Blumia. In this disease, symptoms of intense depression and sometimes overeating like that of a bull are seen. That is why it is called Blumia disease.
